Plumbing issues take many different shapes. Some concerns are obvious, like a busted pipe spraying water all over your bathroom. But some are a bit more subtle—so subtle, in fact, that you may not even notice them at first.
When you brush your teeth, spit in the sink, and turn on the faucet to wash it all down the drain, you may notice that it’s draining slowly. You may not think much of it, but this could be a sign that your pipes are on their last legs!
At KC Flow Heroes, our plumbing experts are always vigilant, keeping an eye out for any plumbing issues that may cause you a headache in the future. So when you talk to our team about drain cleaning in Olathe, we can determine if you need additional services as well. Read on to learn more about our process.
Always Meet Your Heroes
To get started with the drain cleaning process, we first need to take a look ourselves. We may not have a Batmobile at our disposal, but when you give us a call, we’ll head over as soon as we can.
Once our heroes are on the scene, they’ll examine your drain to determine the issue. In some cases, there’s a clog in the line, from grease or hair build-up, that’s causing the slow draining or foul odor. To fix this, we can jet or auger the line to clean it out.

In other cases, clearing the pipe only provides a temporary fix. If your pipes are old and corroded, cleaning the drain only delays the inevitable. We don’t want you to waste money on services you don’t need, so if drain cleaning won’t offer a permanent solution, we may opt to replace your pipes altogether.
When To Replace
One easy way to determine whether we need to replace your pipes is by determining the age of your home. If it was built before 1983, then the pipes are likely cast iron or clay tile and may be damaged already. If they aren’t, it’s only a matter of time. Instead, by replacing your pipes now, our heroes can prevent additional plumbing concerns in your future.
Pipe Lining
To replace outdated pipes, we prefer pipe lining. This one-hole method allows us to shoot flexible lining through the old pipe, which we then harden with a specialized curing light.
Cured-in-place pipe lining (CIPP) gives you new, durable plastic pipes for your water to flow more freely. This method requires us to dig a single hole in your property, making the process more convenient and cost-effective than other replacement options. And it’s also protected by a 50-year warranty (because we know it works)!
