Whose (pipe) line is it, anyway?
At KC Flow Heroes, we used advanced technology to take the hassle out of the pipe repair process. When you contact our team about a damaged sewer line, or an active backup, we first come to your property and look for ourselves.
Whole sewer line excavation is always a last resort. If possible, we will always aim to utilize trenchless pipe lining technology to replace your sewer line. The pipe lining process uses a specialized thick felt sleeve and blue light activated resin to create a new sewer line right in place of the old one. The first step is to get eyes on the problem. Every situation is unique, sometimes we will use a drain cleaner, other times we send the camera first to ensure that we don’t promote a total collapse.
With the information gathered from this camera, we form a plan for a permanent professional solution. We want to be your plumber that you never have to see again for the same issue.
Depending on your house’s unique plumbing, and the condition of the pipe, we will pick our entry point. Pipe lining is a one hole method, either with an entry point in a basement, or a hole in the yard. Once we have a game plan we cut a custom piece of liner, that is the exact length of your sewer, giving you a seamless, perfect replacement. We take the dimensions of your sewer, and saturate a thick felt sleeve with a blue light activated resin.
We pneumatically invert the sleeve (think insiding out a sock) so that the hydrophobic side of the liner is your new sewer walls (think slip and slide). Then we send our specialized blue light down the line to harden the new pipe, the same kind of light they use to cure fillings at the dentist! And just like that, you have a brand new sewer, with a 50 year manufacturer warranty.
A Total Blowout
What happens when we come to your property and decide your sewer cannot be a candidate for a sewer liner, and we need to take more invasive measures? Back in the day, we would have to dig up your yard to install a new system, but that isn’t the case anymore!
For sewer lines that cannot be replaced with CIPP (cured in place pipe), we prefer a method called pipe bursting. This method only requires 2 holes, instead of trenching the entirety of your sewer line.
Using a special hydraulic machine, we pull the new pipe through the old one, destroying the damaged line. Pipe bursting allows us to place the new sewer line while also eliminating the old one.
